RB Leipzig make club-record bid for Everton starlet

RB Leipzig have made a club-record £22m bid for Everton starlet Ademola Lookman, claims The Independent.

Lookman spent the second half of last season on loan at Leipzig and made a real impression in Germany.

Leipzig are determined to sign the 20-year-old on a permanent deal before the end of the month, having already been knocked back by Everton with two bids.

Ralf Rangnick’s side have now returned with an improved £22m offer, which would be a club-record deal for the German side.

Lookman has not made the matchday squad for either of Everton’s opening two Premier League fixtures and has already been warned about his future by Marco Silva.

The England Under-21 international is desperate to return to Leipzig this summer and the Bundesliga side are hopeful their latest bid will be enough.

Lookman made 11 appearances for Leipzig during the second half of last season and scored five goals and provided three assists in that time.
