Roma defender Alessio Romagnoli will undergo his medical with AC Milan on Tuesday ahead of a reported £17.7m move, the Rossoneri have confirmed.
Romagnoli, 20, has been heavily linked with a move away from Roma this summer as Rudi Garcia looks to balance the books following several high profile arrivals at the Stadio Olympico this summer.
Arsenal were alleged to be in the running for the defender’s signature, but have seemingly lost out to Milan, who will make Romagnoli the third most expensive defender in Serie A history.
"Alessio #Romagnoli will undergo a medical examination today. Stay tuned," said the Italian giants on their official Twitter account.
The Italian centre-back spent last season out on loan at Sampdoria, where he made 30 appearances in Serie A.
Of players to have made more than 20 appearances, only three Sampdoria players gained a higher WhoScored rating than Romagnoli (7.02) in Serie A last season.
