City trio doubts for Juventus match

Manchester City could be without David Silva, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero when they entertain Juventus on Tuesday, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed.

Silva, 29, picked up an ankle injury during the international break and the Spaniard has since been joined by Sterling and Aguero on the casualty list after the duo picked up respective hamstring and knee problems over the weekend.

Pellegrini’s men made it five wins out of five when they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 on Saturday, but will be hoping to have all three men available when they open their account in the Champions League on Tuesday against last seasons runners up.

City looked particularly flat without Silva and Sterling in behind Aguero and their absence on Tuesday night would be a huge blow to Pellegrini’s ambitions. The trio has played a direct hand in eight of City’s 11 goals so far in the Premier League, with Silva their highest rated player (8.03).
