Mourinho denies Sanchez wants Manchester United exit

Jose Mourinho has denied Alexis Sanchez wants to leave Manchester United after just 12 months at the club.

United beat neighbourhood rivals Manchester City to Sanchez’s signature in January but the Chile international has been a huge disappointment.

Sanchez has failed to rediscover his best form since moving to Old Trafford and reportedly already wants to leave the club.

The 29-year-old is understood to have eyes on a January move to Paris Saint-Germain but Mourinho has refuted suggestions Sanchez is looking to quit.

“I don’t think so, because he never told me that he wants to leave or isn’t happy to stay,” The Daily Mirror quote Mourinho as saying on Friday.

“Like the team. He’s improving, like the team is improving and when he plays he’s giving us his personality, his desire to play and to produce for the team.

“He’s trying to adapt to how we play and vice versa. Can he do better? I think we can all do better. I can do better, he can do better and all the other players can also do better.”

Sanchez has only scored one goal in 11 appearances in all competitions for United this season and has lost his place in the starting XI to a rejuvenated Anthony Martial.
