David Stockdale will almost certainly leave Brighton this summer after turning down their latest contract offer, reports The Daily Mirror.
The 31-year-old played an integral part in Brighton’s promotion to the Premier League this season but will be free to leave the Seagulls for nothing this summer when his current deal expires.
Stockdale was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in January after being identified by Antonio Conte as the ideal man to replace Asmir Begovic.
The Bosnian goalkeeper is expected to leave Chelsea in the summer and Conte’s side could rekindle their interest in Stockdale to make the experienced goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois’ understudy for next season.
Stockdale kept more clean sheets than any other goalkeeper in the Championship this season (19).
