Arsenal have decided to cash in on Emiliano Martinez amid serious interest from Aston Villa, claims The Independent.
Villa are in talks with Mikel Arteta's side to sign Martinez with a deal in the region of £18m expected to be finalised.
Martinez has emerged as a real fan favourite at Arsenal in recent months after deputising for Bernd Leno superbly at the end of last season.
The 28-year-old arguably finished the campaign as Arsenal's best player and helped the Gunners with both the FA Cup and Community Shield.
With Leno back from injury, however, Arsenal are ready to offload Martinez while his reputation is at an all-time high to boost their transfer kitty.
Villa have already had at least two bids rejected for the Argentine in their pursuit of a new No.1 for next season.
However, talks are now progressing for Martinez to complete a move to Villa Park and he has likely already played his final game for Arsenal.
Martinez had the best save success rate of any goalkeeper in the Premier League last season (79.5%).
