Sergio Aguero has effectively ruled out a summer exit from Manchester City, reports the Independent.
The Argentine striker was heavily linked with a January move away from the Etihad Stadium, while rumours continued to hint that a possible exit was on the cards at the end of the season.
Gabriel Jesus’ arrival at the turn of the year pushed Aguero out of the starting XI, but the Brazilian’s ankle injury shortly into his City career gave the striker another chance to impress.
A brace at Watford on the final day of the season saw the 28-year-old reach the 20-goal barrier and once more proved his striking credentials to the City hierarchy.
Manager Pep Guardiola confirmed in his post-match press conference that Aguero would be staying at the Etihad Stadium, despite reports linking him with a return to Madrd.
What’s more is that the player himself told reporters in the mixed zone that he would be staying in Manchester before boarding the City bus following the 5-0 trouncing of the Hornets.
