Malaga midfielder Ignacio Camacho is close to making a €13m (£11.4m) switch to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, reports La Opinion De malaga, via Football Espana.
Wolfsburg are on the market for a new defensive midfielder after announcing Luiz Gustavo’s departure for French giants Marseille earlier this week.
Camacho has been a pillar of consistency for Malaga since making the switch from Atletico Madrid in 2010 and Wolfsburg are now hopeful of securing his services for less than his reported €18m (£15.8m) release clause.
Premier League side West Brom reportedly agreed personal terms with the 27-year-old last summer but failed to agree on a price with Malaga and a deal collapsed.
Since August 2012, only Victor Sanchez (1050) and Gabi (983) have won more tackles and interceptions combined in La Liga than Camacho (899).
