Manchester United join race for Premier League midfielder
Manchester United are interested in signing Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure at the end of the season but will face competition from their rivals, reports The Daily Mirror.
Doucoure has been in immense form for Watford this season and is already being tracked by the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal as a high profile summer move beckons.
Watford will struggle to hold on to the 25-year-old regardless of whether they can avoid the drop this season and now Jose Mourinho has added the powerful midfielder to his list of summer transfer targets.
The United manager has made bolstering his midfield a top priority at the end of the season and the Red Devils have already been linked with moves for Nice ace Jean Seri and Napoli star Jorginho.
Doucoure is Watford’s top goalscorer in the Premier League this season (7), while the former France Under-21 international has won possession in the middle third more times than any other player in the division (153).
