Brazilian set to controversially swap Chelsea for Liverpool
Liverpool are closing in on Chelsea's Brazilian winger Willian, with the Reds now favourites to secure the services of the Blues attacker, reports Sport via Sport Witness.
Willian's contract expires in the summer and there has been no indication that he would extend his stay at Stamford Bridge.
With Xherdan Shaqiri expected to leave Liverpool in the summer, Jurgen Klopp belives free agent Willian would be the ideal replacement at Anfield.
Barcelona have previously been linked with a move for Willian, but reports suggest they are no longer interested in the 31-year-old.
And it's now believed that Liverpool lead the race for the Brazil international in what would be seen as a controversial switch by the player.
Willian is keen to continue playing in England with his family settled and while London duo Tottenham and Arsenal, the Premier League leaders are now the frontrunners for his signature.
Putting a statistically calculated WhoScored strength of 'key passes' to good effect, only Toni Kroos (22) has created more goalscoring chances than Willian (19) in the Champions League this season.
