Icardi pours cold water on Real Madrid talk

Inter captain Mauro Icardi insists he is not interested in speculation linking him with a big money move to Real Madrid and would even let the phone ring out if they tried to call him.

Icardi has made a sublime start to the season and naturally that has put the Argentina international on Madrid’s radar as Florentino Perez looks to revitalise the club’s offensive options at the end of the season.

However, the 24-year-old, who will reportedly be rewarded with a bumper new deal at Inter, insists he has no interest in talk linking him with a move to the Bernebau.

“If I receive a phone call from Real Madrid, I won’t answer,” he told Sky Sports, via AS.

Inter are only two points behind league leaders Napoli in Serie A and Icardi has scored more than half of their goals (15/28).

In fact, only Edinson Cavani (16) has scored more goals than Icardi in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
