Manchester United plot blockbuster £250m raid of Liga NOS

Manchester United are interested in signing Benfica duo Joao Felix, Ruben Dias and Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes in a stunning swoop worth £250m, claims The Daily Mirror.

The Red Devils are keen on signing the best young talent in Europe this summer and have also listed Borussia Dortmund teenager Jadon Sancho as a top transfer target.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told United they need to sign a new central midfielder to fill the void left by Maraoune Fellaini and Sporting’s Fernandes has emerged as their ideal replacement.

Fernandes is the only player in Liga NOS this season to register double figures for goals and assists, though the Portugal international has a release clause of £95m.

United are also interested in Benfica wonderkid Felix, who has emerged as one of the most sought after talents in Europe this season.

The 19-year-old has usurped veteran forward Jonas in the pecking order for places at Benfica this season and has scored 10 goals and provided four assists in 18 league appearances.

United are not the only club in Europe interested but Felix’s stunning £105m release clause may deter a few from intensifying their pursuit.

The Red Devils made Victor Lindelof the club’s most expensive ever defender in a deal worth £31m in 2017 and are now keen on returning to Benfica for another centre-back.

Ruben Dias has emerged as Benfica’s best defender this season and is reportedly valued at £50m.
