Manchester City are interested in Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos
Manchester City are paying close attention to Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season, claims ESPN.
Ramos, who has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United, has entered the final six months of his existing Madrid contract and is free to discuss a Bosman transfer with foreign clubs.
While City anticipate Ramos is more likely to renew with Madrid than leave, the Premier League outfit have not given up complete hope of striking a deal and will continue to monitor his future in Spain.
Despite turning 35 in March, Pep Guardiola is reportedly a fan of his old rival and would be keen on brining the Spain international to the Etihad at the end of the season to bolster his defensive options for 2021/22.
Ramos has remarkably scored 13 league goals since the start of last season, more than Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann (12) in the same time.
