Napoli failed with audacious move for England superstar

Napoli have been told to forget their interest in Tottenham striker Harry Kane, according to Sky Italia, via Football Italia.

Inter captain Mauro Icardi had been earmarked as their top transfer target to replace Gonzalo Higuain but the Argentine striker is poised to sign a new deal with the Nerazzurri.

Napoli have instead turned their attentions to Kane but Tottenham have already told them to look at other targets.

Only Sergio Aguero (56) has scored more goals in the last three Premier League seasons than Kane (46).
