Manchester City board member Alberto Galassi has categorically denied Pep Guardiola will leave the club to manage Juventus next season.
Juventus are on the market for a new manager after deciding to end Masimilliano Allegri’s tenure at the club 12 months early.
Despite Guardiola ruling out leaving City for Juventus on numerous occasions in the last few months, reports continue to persist in Italy claiming otherwise.
A fresh report emerged on Thursday morning suggesting Guardiola has already agreed to take over at Juventus and will be presented by the club in the middle of June.
However, Galassi has poured cold water on such ideas and insists Guardiola has no intentions of leaving City.
“As a City board member, I was surprised to read such codswallop,” he told Sky Italia. “He’s our coach and, he wants to stay with us. He can’t understand how his word is not being heard. It’s all falsehood.
“The first thing a serious club does in these cases is to contact the other club. It’s unthinkable that City are unaware of his supposed presentation in just a few days.
“The story is totally without foundation. We don’t understand why a club should intervene for the umpteenth time to say Guardiola doesn’t want to leave Manchester City. This question doesn’t exist.”
After beating Watford in last weekend’s FA Cup final, City became the first Premier League team to complete a domestic treble, while also becoming the first team in a decade to successfully defend the Premier League.
