Real Madrid icon keen on Man Utd switch

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is prepared to reject the chance to move to PSG in favour of a switch to Premier League side Manchester United, reports The Mirror on Sunday.

Ramos' current deal in Spain expires in the summer and he is ready to quit Los Blancos in search of a new challenge in the Premier League after talks over a new deal collapsed.

The centre-back is allowed to talk to teams outside of Spain over a pre-contract agreement, with his agent and brother, Rene Ramos, targeting a move to England.

The 34-year-old huge weage demands means only a handful of Premier League sides could afford Ramos, with Manchester City and Liverpool also rumoured destinations.

However, the player's camp favours a move to United, who have shown no qualms at offering experienced stars big money deals following the arrival of Edinson Cavani from PSG.

United would benefit from the addition of an experienced centre-back as they seek to land their first Premier League title since 2012/13.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side lost further ground in the race for domestic glory as they were held to a 0-0 draw with Arsenal to leave them three points behind league leaders Manchester City, who have a game in hand over their rivals.
