Serie A penalty king pens new deal

Samir Handanovic has put pen to paper on a new deal with Inter, according to Sky Italia.

The 31-year-old’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and Inter have been determined to keep hold of the Slovenia international.

Handanovic has previously admitted to being frustrated by missing out on Champions League football, but there has been a breakthrough in negotiations and the goalkeeper is set to sign his new deal in the coming days.

Since the start of the 2012/13 campaign, Handanovic has saved at least two more penalties than any other goalkeeper in Serie A (7), accentuating his statistically calculated strength of ‘penalty saving’.
