Tottenham are not interested in selling Kane to Manchester United

Tottenham have ruled out selling Harry Kane to one of their Premier League rivals contrary to reports suggesting otherwise, claims Sky Sports.

Kane's future has been the topic of hot discussion in the last week after the England captain hinted at a summer move away on social media to former Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp.

Reports emerged over the weekend suggesting Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy would reluctantly consider Kane's sale to ease the club's financial concerns following the oubtreak of COVID-19.

Manchester United have been heavily link with a move for Kane in the past and would be the obvious destination should the 26-year-old leave Tottenham for another Premier League rival this summer.

Tottenham would reportedly only consider Kane's departure if a £200M bid was lodged for their star striker but it is now claimed Levy will not entertain his transfer to a direct league rival.

As Levy is notoriously difficult to negotiate with as the best of times, it means if Kane wants to leave Tottenham then he will more than likely have to go abroad and it remains to be seen whether any foreign side can afford to match Tottenham's eye-watering valuation.

Kane has established himself as one of the best strikers in Europe in recent years but his injury record is already dicey and is unlikely to get better as he gets older.

The England international has missed Tottenham's last 15 matches through injury after suffering a serious hamstring injury on New Year's Day but will now be fit to return once football is safe to resume.

After scoring at least 25 league goals in three straight seasons, Kane looked to be on the right path to reach Alan Shearer's record as the Premier League's all-time scorer, but injuries now look set to derail that challenge.

Nevertheless, Kane is already 13th on the list for top scorers in the competition's history and requires just another 14 goals to crack the top 10. He requires another 124 goals to match Shearer's record (260), however.
