Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has refused to rule out a summer switch to Napoli as his long-term future at Old Trafford remains unclear.
Ibrahimovic’s current deal at United is due to expire at the end of the season but the 35-year-old does have an option to extend his stay at the club by a further 12 months, which Jose Mourinho is desperate for.
However, the former Sweden international is yet to be convinced United have what it takes to win the Premier League next season and is reportedly mulling his options with a big money move to LA Galaxy also being reported.
Ibrahimovic, who has previously played with Juventus, AC Milan and Inter in Serie A, has long been linked with a move to Napoli in recent years and the iconic Swede has not ruled out a return to Italy in the future.
“Napoli? You never know…,” Corriere dello Sport quote Ibrahimovic as telling Fox Sport Italia, via Football Italia. “I’m happy here though. Let’s see what happens. I signed for one season with an option for a second. I don’t have too many seasons in front of me, I want to have fun and make a difference.”
The former Paris Saint-Germain striker has been a huge hit for United since joining at the start of the season and his performances have exceeded expectations in the Premier League.
Despite scoring 15 goals in the Premier League this season, Ibrahimovic has actually missed at least six more clear-cut chances than any other player in England’s top-tier (17).
