Chelsea have elected against using their buyback clause to re-sign Jeremie Boga from Sassuolo, reports The Guardian.
The Blues elected to insert such a clause on the back of Boga's move to the Serie A side and they had the option to exercise that clause this summer for a reported £13m.
Boga has interest across Europe, with Serie A outfit Napoli huge admirers of the 23-year-old, but Chelsea are looking to negotiate the sell-on clause with Sassuolo before they sanction his sale.
The Ivorian departed Chelsea permanently in 2018 after a series of loan stints at the likes of Rennes, Granada and Birmingham City.
Boga has totalled just 18 minutes of Premier League action for Chelsea, that coming at the beginning of the 2017/18 season.
And while Boga took time to settle with Sassuolo, he has been exceptional for the Italian side this term scoring eight goals and registering two assists.
What's more, Boga has completed more dribbles (106) than any other player in Serie A this season to reinforce a statistically calculated WhoScored strength of 'dribbling' and return a rating of 7.31.
