PSV Eindhoven midfielder agrees MLS switch

PSV Eindhoven midfielder Andres Guardado has agreed terms to a four-year deal to join new Major League Soccer franchise Los Angeles FC, reports ESPN.

Guardado is on the verge of entering the final 12 months of his current PSV deal and appears to have no intention of extending his stay with the Dutch giants.

The 30-year-old has spent the last two years with PSV after joining from Valencia in 2015 but is now poised to move to America for the start of the 2018 campaign, which will start in March.

Los Angeles FC are desperate to add marquee names to their squad for their maiden campaign in MLS and believe Guardado’s reputation in Europe, coupled with the fact he is a Mexico international is a recipe for success.

In the last two Eredivisie campaigns only Hakim Ziyech (22) and Sam Larsson (19) have registered more assists than Guardado (18), who is currently in Russia on international duty for the Confederations Cup.
