Arsenal warned German international is not for sale

Julian Draxler will not be moving to Arsenal, or anywhere else for that matter, according to Wolfsburg’s director of sport Klaus Allofs.

In an interview with sport1.de Allofs stated, “The situation with Draxler is 100 per cent certain that he will be staying at Wolfsburg. There is no discussing that.”

You can rarely rule anything out in football, but the quotes come as another blow to the Gunners, who have been trailing the German international for some time and also look set to miss out on top striker target Gonzalo Higuain this summer.

Draxler only joined the Wolves last summer in something of a surprise move as the Bundesliga outfit aimed to replace Kevin De Bruyne. Injuries continued to hamper his progress, starting just 19 league games for the club last season, with modest tallies of 5 goals and 5 assists.

Since breaking into first team football six years ago, only five players have completed more dribbles in the Bundesliga than Draxler (374).
