Liverpool rekindle interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder

Liverpool have reignited their interest in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Mario Gotze and are keen to complete a £20m summer deal, according to The Daily Mirror.

Jurgen Klopp wanted to reunite with Gotze at Anfield last summer only to be beaten to his signature by former club Dortmund but is hopeful of getting a deal done this time around.

The 24-year-old arguably played his best football under Klopp at Dortmund and has struggled to find his best form ever since leaving for Bayern Munich in 2013.

Gotze has struggled to establish himself as a first team regular under Thomas Tuchel and is now reportedly eyeing a new challenge in order to kickstart his career.

The Germany international has only started nine league games this season and has just one goal and one assist to his name all season.
