Real Madrid duo on Manchester United’s radar

Jose Mourinho is looking to bring Real Madrid pair Toni Kroos and Raphael Varane to Manchester United, reports the Daily Star.

The Portuguese boss is eager to improve his squad in order to bolster United’s chances of returning to the Premier League’s summit.

And Mourinho has identified Kroos and Varane as United’s best chance of securing domestic glory after landing the Community Shield and EFL Cup this term.

Kroos has only recently extended his contract in Madrid, but it’s believed the Germany international is unsettled at the Bernabeu and is considering a new challenge.

Varane, meanwhile, was linked with a move to United before his switch to Real Madrid and was handed his league debut by Mourinho during their time together in Spain.

The French defender could reunite in Manchester with Mourinho, with Kroos, who is joint-top for assists (9) in La Liga this season, potentially making the switch with Varane to the Premier League giants.
