Serie A forward's move to China collapses

AC Milan striker Luiz Adriano has revealed his proposed move to China has broken down in negotiations over his salary.

Adriano, 28, only joined Milan from Shakhtar Donetsk over the summer but has failed to settle and looked set on moving on this month.

However, the Brazilian striker will now remain at the Serie A giants after turning down the move to China.

“It’s not true what you’re saying. I never asked for more money once I arrived in China,” Adriano told Calciomercato.com.

“I actually would not have had any guarantees over my salary. They did not want to put a precise amount in my contract. I don’t work that way and that’s what stopped me signing for Jiangsu Suning.”

Only Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar (all 10) scored more goals than Adriano (9) in the Champions League last season, despite only playing seven games.
