Bournemouth are keen to secure a loan deal for Chelsea midfielder Danny Drinkwater, reports The Daily Mail.
Drinkwater joined Chelsea from Leicester in a £30m deal 18 months ago but has endured a nightmare spell at Stamford Bridge.
The former England international has not made a single appearance since getting a 30-minute run-out in their Community Shield defeat to Manchester City at the start of the season.
Drinkwater has remarkably even struggled to attract suitors since the end of last season, in part due to his sizeable wages at Chelsea.
However, Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is now keen to bolster his midfield options with Drinkwater before Thursday’s deadline.
With Lewis Cook ruled out for the remainder of the season, Drinkwater would help fill the void left by the highly rated 21-year-old.
Drinkwater, 28, has only made the matchday squad on two occasions in all competitions this season and has more than three years left to run on his current deal.
