Cabaye set for Palace medical

Yohan Cabaye will undergo his medical at Crystal Palace this evening before completing a club-record £12m move from Paris Saint-Germain.

Cabaye, 29, has reportedly turned down offers from Atletico Madrid and other English clubs to reunite with Alan Pardew at Selhurst Park, with the European Championships a year away.

The France international flourished under Pardew for three years at Newcastle United before landing a big-money move to PSG in January 2014. However, the creative midfielder has failed to make any sort of impact for Laurent Blanc’s side and is set to return to the Premier League as Palace’s club-record signing.

Cabaye left Tyneside as the Magpies top rated player according to WhoScored.com’s statistically calculated rating system (7.48) having scored seven goals in the first five months of the season. However, the Frenchman has failed to hit anywhere near those heights back in his homeland, only managing 21 starts in Ligue 1 since.
