Coutinho ‘happy’ at Liverpool amid Barcelona speculation

Philippe Coutinho insists he is happy at Liverpool despite being denied the chance to join Barcelona over the summer.

Barcelona had bids in excess of £100m for Coutinho rejected but the La Liga giants are expected to renew their interest in the Brazil international in January.

Coutinho even handed in a transfer request in order to force through a move to the Camp Nou, but the 25-year-old insists he is very happy even though the transfer failed to materialise.

“I’m playing in one of the biggest leagues in the world,” Sky Sports quote Coutinho as saying during the international break.

“I’m always happy. But now it’s important to concentrate on the national team. At the moment I am very happy with my life.”

Injuries have limited Coutinho to just five Premier League starts this season, while he is expected to end a four-game absence for club and country against England on Tuesday.

The Liverpool No.10 has played a direct hand in seven goals in his last six appearances, claiming the WhoScored Man of the Match three times in that run.
