Arsenal line up summer move for Real Madrid slayer

Arsenal are monitoring Shakhtar Donetsk winger Manor Solomon with a view to making a move for the Israeli this summer, reports The Guardian.

The 21-year-old impressed in Shakhtar's ultimately doomed Champions League group stage campaign, scoring twice as the Ukrainian side finished third to secure a Europa League place.

Both goals came in wins over Real Madrid, which has contributed to his rise across the continent as teams show an interest in a host of Shakhtar's young stars.

Arsenal are believed to have monitored Solomon's progress for over a year now and are considering making a move for the player at the end of the season.

While the Gunners would favour a move for Solomon this month rather than risk missing out on one of their top targets, Arsenal don't have the funds to secure the Israel international's services in January.

Mikel Arteta is still in the market for a creative midfielder this month, though the good form of Emile Smith Rowe, coupled with the asking price of a number of targets, means the Arsenal boss may have to make do with the players at his disposal until the summer.
