West Ham midfielder subject of renewed interest from Italy
Fiorentina are keen to get a deal for West Ham midfielder Pedro Obiang over the line this month, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Obiang has been pushed to the fringes under Manuel Pellegrini this season and Fiorentina have rekindled their interest from last summer as a result.
The Viola, who sold Carlos Sanchez to West Ham last summer, believe they are a midfielder light and have earmarked Obiang as their top transfer target.
Obiang spent five years at Sampdoria before earning a move to West Ham in 2015 and has generally played well when given a run in the first-team.
West Ham boosted their midfield options with the arrival of Samir Nasri earlier this month, which could convince the Hammers to part ways with Obiang despite the fact they are different types of player.
Obiang has only started nine Premier League matches this season and has a measly WhoScored rating of 6.36.
Of players that have attempted at least 50 dribbles in the Premier League over the last three campaigns, Obiang has the best success rate (90.6%).
