Leicester starlet set for new £50,000-a-week deal

Demarai Gray is poised to sign a new long-term deal with Leicester after the club turned down a £25m bid from Bournemouth in the summer, reports The Daily Telegraph.

The England U21 international has struggled to make any significant impact at Leicester since joining from Birmingham at the start of 2016 and was heavily linked with a move away during the summer.

However, Leicester were not interested in selling the 21-year-old and are now poised to reward Gray with a new deal that will double his current wage to £50,000-a-week.

Gray still has three years remaining on his existing deal but Leicester want to reward the youngster as a sign of good faith.

Since August 2015, Gray has been used as a substitute more times than any other Premier League player (36).
