Cristiano Ronaldo will be rewarded with a three-year contract extension at Real Madrid ending speculation regarding his future and handing a hammer blow to Paris Saint-Germain’s long-term pursuit of the forward, report AS.
The 31-year-old still has just more than two years to run on his current deal but Madrid ace was heavily linked with a move away earlier in the summer with PSG in pole to sign the forward.
Madrid, however, will make the deal official shortly after the Champions League final on Saturday when they will face off against city rivals Atletico Madrid for the second time in two years.
Ronaldo, like the entire Madrid team, had a mixed start to the season but has been in sublime form since the turn of the year. In fact, Ronaldo has surpassed 50 goals in a season for a record sixth time in a row.
