Gonzalo Higuain’s agent has assured Napoli there is ‘no chance’ of the Argentina international playing anywhere else for the mean time.
The former Real Madrid striker has been linked with a move to Bayern Munich, among other European clubs, in the summer following his startling form this season that has put Napoli in the title race.
However, his agent, who is his brother, has assured the club that Higuain has no intentions of leaving Napoli at the moment.
“Champions League with Napoli? Yes, for the moment,” Higuain’s agent told Radio Kiss Kiss. “We have a contract and there’s no chance of playing elsewhere, but we can’t think about the Champions League now, but just about playing every game.
“There are still many points to play for. When Gonzalo plays it’s normal that there’s high chance of scoring goals, he’s having a great season.”
In fact, Higuain’s scoring record is astonishing. No player in Europe’s top five leagues has scored more goals than the 28-year-old, who is averaging nearly a goal a game (24 goals).
