Chelsea agree Morata fee

Chelsea have announced that they have agreed a fee for the transfer of Alvaro Morata from Real Madrid.

Reports on Wednesday began to circulate that the Blues were closing in on the Spain international and later that evening, the Blues confirmed that a deal was in place that would see the 24-year-old link up with Antonio Conte’s squad, subject to a medical and agreeing personal term.

Chelsea Football Club and Real Madrid have agreed terms for the transfer of Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge,” a statement read on the club’s official website.

“The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

“Morata, 24, is a Spanish international forward, and helped Real to lift a second successive Champions League last season.”

Manchester United were at one point leading the race to sign Morata, but after agreeing personal terms with the forward, failed to come to terms on a fee with the La Liga and European champions for the Spaniard.

Morata will at long last link up with Conte, who signed him for Juventus in 2014 before taking over as Italy head coach.
