Crystal Palace look to Serie A to solve striker problems
As Christian Benteke continues to struggle in front of goal, Crystal Palace are keen to bolster their threadbare striking options and have reportedly turned their attentions to Italy.
According to Corriere dello Sport (via The Croydon Adviser), the Eagles have already submitted a bid for Inter forward and Azzurri international Eder.
The Brazilian-born striker is well down the pecking order under new boss Luciano Spalletti in San Siro, failing to start a single league game for the Serie A giants this season.
A casualty of the form of Mauro Icardi in Milan for some time, Eder has started just 21 of 62 league appearances for Inter since signing for the club this time two years ago, scoring 10 goals in that time.
A very busy and hard working forward, the Italy international was a favourite of Antonio Conte when he was in charge of the national side and really made a name for himself in the first half of the 2015/16 with Sampdoria, scoring 12 goals in 19 appearances.
He dovetailed well with a big man in Graziano Pelle at Euro 2016, so could potentially partner Benteke at Palace but given the Belgian’s struggles, scoring just once in the league this season, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Londoners were losing faith with the former Villa hitman.
