Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign out-of-favour Real Madrid creator James Rodriguez on a cut-price deal, reports The Sun.
Rodriguez is deemed surplus to requirements by Madrid and the Spanish side want him sold permanently this summer to raise funds to afford their own transfer targets.
The Colombia international has been limited to just four league starts this season after returning from a two-year loan stint at Bayern Munich last summer.
Rodriguez has been regularly linked with an £80m move to United in the past but now Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have the chance to snap him up for a fraction of the price.
It would, however, be a real shock to see United rekindle their interest in the 28-year-old after signing Bruno Fernandes from Sporting in January.
Working on a reduced transfer budget post-Coronavirus, it would also be surprising if United allocated a large chunk to landing Rodriguez when they are pursuing the likes of Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek and Kai Havertz.
Rodriguez has spent the last six years at Madrid after exploding onto the scene at the 2014 World Cup but his career has drifted over the last three seasons.
Rodriguez was a real hit in his first season at Madrid, concluding the 2014/15 campaign with 13 goals and 13 assists in 34 league matches.
He was the fourth highest WhoScored rated player in LaLiga that season (7.85) behind Leo Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar and has not managed double figures for both goals and assists in a single league campaign since then.
