West Ham eye audacious move for Serie A ace

West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to bolster his offensive options by signing Lazio ace Felipe Anderson this summer, claims Sky Sports.

Anderson has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United but is now on West Ham’s radar.

The Brazil international was forced to settle for a reduced role for Lazio last season after returning from a long layoff at the start of December.

New West Ham manager Manuel Pellegrini wants to add quality in attack over the summer in order to ease the burden on club-record signing Marko Arnautovic.

The Austria international cut an isolated figure up front for the majority of West Ham’s matches last season and signing Anderson would be a real statement of intent from the east London outfit.

West Ham signed Joao Mario on loan from Inter for the second half of last season but are not expected to make the switch permanent, instead targeting Anderson from Lazio.

The 25-year-old played a direct hand in 17 goals in 28 games across league and European competition last season (seven goals, 10 assists), despite making 16 of those appearances from the bench.

Of Serie A players that made more than one appearance last season, Anderson completed a dribble more often than any other player (1 every 14.8 minutes of action).
