Aston Villa confirm signing of Rogers from Middlesbrough
Aston Villa have confirmed the deadline day signing of Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough.
Rogers was heavily linked with a switch to Villa Park for much of January with Unai Emery keen on strengthening in the final third.
The 21-year-old only moved to Boro last summer and has scored more goals (5) than any other player in the Carabao Cup this season.
"Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Morgan Rogers from Middlesbrough," a statement read on the club's official website.
"The 21-year-old exciting young talent has joined Villa for an undisclosed fee.
"A regular for England at youth international level, Rogers signed for Boro last summer and has seven goals and eight assists to his name so far this term, recently scoring against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
"Once on the books at West Bromwich Albion, he made his professional debut while at the Hawthorns before being snapped up by Manchester City.
"The Halesowen-born forward also spent time on loan at Lincoln City, Blackpool and Bournemouth, helping the Cherries win promotion to the Premier League."
Rogers will be available for selection for Villa's trip to Sheffield United this weekend.
