Madrid still keen on Premier League star

Real Madrid are still intent on signing Manchester United shot stopper David de Gea, reports Spanish paper AS.

Madrid, who had their transfer ban suspended on Friday pending appeal, saw their attempts to sign the Spain international collapse in the final seconds of the summer transfer window.

De Gea then signed a new long-term deal at Old Trafford but it is believed a release clause was inserted into the contract to allow him to make his dream move in the future.

Any suggestions Madrid would look to sign the former Atletico Madrid goalkeeper looked over when they were hit by a transfer ban earlier this month, but they could now rekindle their interest after having the ban suspended.

Despite still be lauded as one of the best goalkeepers in Europe, his save percentage in the league this season (72.5%) is way down on his best, which came in the 2011/12 campaign (77.2%).
