Liverpool forward rejected shock move to China

Christian Benteke is determined to make it work at Liverpool after rejecting a shock move to China in January, according to The Daily Express, via Metro.

The Belgium international has struggled to make any impression at Anfield since Jurgen Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers after making a staggering £32.5m move from Aston Villa over the summer.

Benteke, 25, was an unused substitute in Liverpool’s penalty shoot-out defeat to Manchester City in the League Cup final on Sunday and it has now emerged the striker rejected the chance to end his Anfield in misery with a lucrative move to China in January.

Despite failing to start a league game since the start of January, no Liverpool player has scored more goals in all competitions than Benteke this season (7).
