Liverpool have made an offer to Barcelona to loan Ousmane Demeble next season with an option to make the switch permanent, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Barcelona are looking to offload Dembele at the end of the current campaign in order to raise funds and free up room in their squad for the likes of Lautaro Martinez and Neymar.
Dembele has endured a torrid time with injuries at Barcelona ever since his blockbuster move from Borussia Dortmund three years ago.
Barcelona shelled out an initial £96.8m to sign Dembele in the summer of 2017 after an eye-catching campaign debut campaign for Dortmund.
However, the Spanish giants are prepared to take a huge financial hit on Dembele in order offload the France international.
Liverpool are prepared to move cautiously through the summer transfer window as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic but are interested in Dembele if a loan deal can first be made.
Jurgen Klopp would like to bolster his offensive options with at least one new signing this summer with Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri due to leave.
However, Dembele is reportedly digging his heels in over a Barcelona exit this summer to leave Liverpool's pursuit up in the air.
Dembele has been limited to just five league appearances for Barcelona this season and will not be fit enough to help their campaign when the league resumes later this month.
After committing as much as £135.5m to signing Dembele, a return of just 35 starts from a possible 103 league matches is a shoddy return for the 23-year-old winger.
