Napoli make Manchester United target available for transfer
Napoli will listen to offers for star defender Kalidou Koulibaly once they sign Lille attacker Victor Osimhen, claims The Daily Telegraph.
The Serie A outfit are in advanced talks to sign Osimhen from Lille in a deal that could be worth as much as £70m.
In order to balance the books Napoli have decided to cash in on Koulibaly, with the Premier League his most likely destination.
In addition to signing Osimhen from Lille, Napoli are also working on a deal for their highly-rated centre-back, Gabriel, who would directly replace Koulibaly.
The Senegal international has widely been regarded as one of the best centre-backs in the world for several years.
Manchester United have been regularly linked with a move for the 29-year-old in a bid to solve their defensive woes.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side ended up signing Harry Maguire for a world record fee for a defender last summer, and while they have improved at the back this season, they still look vulnerable on occasion.
Napoli were holding out for around £100m for Koulibaly during the height of United's interest but it remains to be seen what they could realistically command post-coronavirus.
Gennaro Gattuso's side surprisingly have a better record in Serie A this season when Koulibaly has not started compared to when he has.
Napoli have won 58.3% of the 14 league matches Koulibaly has not started compared to a win ratio of just 38.9% from his 18 starts in Serie A this term.
