Barcelona eye £30m bid for Chelsea winger

Barcelona plan to sign Chelsea winger Willian in a deal worth £30m this summer, claims The Sun.

The Spanish champions have failed to sign Willian from Chelsea in each of the last two transfer windows and are determined to get their man at the end of the season.

Willian will only have 12 months left to run on his current Chelsea deal this summer and is aware his next contract will likely be his last big one.

Chelsea only tend to hand rolling one-year deals to players that are the wrong side of 30 and Willian would certainly get a longer contract with Barcelona.

Maurizio Sarri’s side are still waiting to find out whether they will have to serve a FIFA-imposed transfer ban this summer, which would all but end Barcelona’s hopes of signing Willian.

Barcelona are ready to sell Malcom after just one season at the club and Ernesto Valverde’s side even offered to use him as a makeweight in a deal to sign Willian in January.

Malcom has only made 12 league appearances for Barcelona this season and only three of those have been starts.

Willian, by contrast, has made 31 league appearances for Chelsea this season and has played a direct hand in nine goals in that time (three goals, six assists).
