Manchester United end pursuit of former forward Joshua King
Manchester United have cooled their interest in Bournemouth striker Joshua King and are now looking at other targets, claims Sky Sports.
King emerged as a shock transfer target for United on Friday morning, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer frantically looks to get a striker in before the window shuts.
Solskjaer coached King during his time as head coach of United's reserves and also shares the same agent as the Norway international.
Bournemouth rejected United's initial offer for the 27-year-old but manager Eddie Howe did not completely rule out a return to Old Trafford for the forward.
It was thought United would return with an improved offer for King, with the Bournemouth forward keen to return to his former club.
However, it has now emerged United have ended their pursuit of King and are focusing on other targets before Friday's 23:00 deadline.
King, who has been out injured since December, has only scored three goals in 16 league appearances for Bournemouth this season.
Furthermore, only one player has given away possession due to an unsuccessful touch more times per game than King (3.6) in the Premier League this season.
