Juventus and Inter pull out of deal for Manchester United defender
Juventus and Inter have cooled their interest in Manchester United outcast Matteo Darmian due to the terms demanded by the Premier League side, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
Darmian has been heavily linked with a return to Italy after struggling to make any positive impression during his three-and-a-half-year stint at the club.
The Italy international has dropped completely out of favour this month and a move back to Serie A finally looked on the card as early as Sunday.
United triggered a 12-month extension in Darmian’s contract earlier this week to increase his valuation, but neither Juventus nor Inter are willing to agree to their demands.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are willing to let Darmian leave this month but only if a €6m loan fee is paid.
United also want the buying club to agree to a €6m clause to make the move permanent at the end of the current campaign.
Since August 2015, United, unsurprisingly, have a better win ratio in the Premier League when Darmian has not started (59.6%) compared to when he has featured from the off (45.8%).
