Kopa trophy winner De Ligt makes best rated U21 XI for November

 

Here we run through the best WhoScored rated U21 XI from Europe's top five leagues for the month of November. Players must have been 21 or under at the start of the month to be eligible for selection and made at least three league appearances.

 

Goalkeeper: Aaron Ramsdale (Bournemouth) - 7.36 rating

 

Bournemouth shot-stopper Aaron Ramsdale didn't finish November particularly well but he started it in tremendous fashion. Ramsdale made four saves in a 1-0 win at home to Manchester United and was the WhoScored Man of the Match against Newcastle in their next match. Overall, the 21-year-old made 18 saves across four league appearances.

 

Right-back: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool) - 7.42 rating

 

Trent Alexander-Arnold finished November in tremendous fashion with a pair of assists in Liverpool's 2-1 win at home to Brighton. The England international created 11 goalscoring chances in four league appearances in November and made 15 tackles and interceptions combined to help Liverpool secure four wins from four.

 

Centre-back: Matthijs de Ligt (Juventus) - 7.79 rating

 

Matthijs de Ligt was crowned the best youngster in the world on Monday evening and now makes our best U21 XI in Europe's top five leagues. De Ligt has finally found his feet at Juventus after enduring a difficult start to the season. His WhoScored rating was above 7.00 in all three league appearances last month, as he made 16 clearances and eight tackles and interceptions combined in three wins for Juventus.

 

Centre-back: Ozan Kabak (Schalke) - 7.43 rating

 

Ozan Kabak started the season out of favour but is now a first-team regular after a storming month of November, as Schalke picked up 10 points from an available 12. The Turkey international only made his first league start of the season at the beginning of November and capped his full debut with a goal, before following that up with another goal in Schalke's next match. He remarkably played a direct hand in three goals from centre-back last month (two goals, one assist).

 

Left-back: Alphonso Davies (Bayern Munich) - 7.96 rating

 

Alphonso Davies has been a surprise package for Bayern Munich this season, excelling from an unfamiliar left-back position for the Bundesliga giants. No player made more tackles than Davies (20) in the Bundesliga last month and the 19-year-old did not shy away from getting forward with 10 dribbles completed across his four league appearances.

 

Central midfield: Aurelien Tchouameni (Bordeaux) - 7.48 rating

 

19-year-old Bordeaux midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni garnered a WhoScored rating above 7.00 in all four of his league appearances last month and closed November with an assist in their 1-1 draw at Reims. Moreover, the French teenager impressively recorded a pass success rate above 90% in two of his four league appearances.

Central midfield: Zaydou Youssouf (Saint-Etienne) - 7.44 rating

 

Though Saint-Etienne lost their first game in December, they were unbeaten across three league matches in November, with rising midfielder Zaydou Youssouf thoroughly impressing in that time. The 20-year-old made 13 tackles and interceptions combined across three starts and completed 11 dribbles.

 

Central midfield: Jeff Reine-Adelaide (Lyon) - 7.55 rating

 

After a fairly diasterous start to life at Lyon, Jeff Reine-Adelaide has finally established himself for his new club over the last month. The 21-year-old closed November with goals in successive league appearances, his first goals for the club. Not only that, but he started the month with his first league assist for Lyon, coming in a 3-2 win at Toulouse. Across his four league appearances he completed 15 dribbles.

 

Right wing: Dejan Kulusevski (Parma) - 7.45 rating

 

Parma sensation Dejan Kulusevski finished November with a goal and WhoScored Man of the Match display in a hard-fought 2-2 draw at Bologna. The Sweden international attempted 11 shots across three league appearances last month; completed seven dribbles and registered six key passes.

 

Striker: Christopher Nkunku (RB Leipzig) - 8.30 rating

 

Christopher Nkunku played in a variety of positions for RB Leipzig last month and excelled in each of them. Nkunku finished November with a direct hand in five goals in three league starts (one goal, four assists) and garnered a perfecet WhoScored 10 rating in Leipzig's 8-0 demolition of Mainz at the start of the month. Nkunku, who turned 22 midway through the month, completed 10 dribbles and registered 13 key passes in four league appearances.

 

Left wing: Mounir Chouiar (Dijon) - 8.18 rating

 

Mounir Chouiar scored in wins over Paris Saint-Germain and Rennes last month to establish himself as one of the best WhoScored rated youngsters on the continent. The 20-year-old completed more dribbles than any other player in Ligue 1 in November (19) and ranked third for accurate crosses (10).
