We have entered Saturday’s main contest and will be gunning for a share of £6,000! Make sure you head to all the Premier League preview pages to help make informed decisions on what players to pick in your fantasy football teams on Yahoo! Now, here’s our XI:
PETR CECH (ARSENAL)
Arsenal have kept clean sheets in four of their last six Premier League matches and will fancy their chances of shutting out a Swansea outfit completely devoid of confidence at the moment.
Swansea have only won two games all season in the Premier League and have failed to score in three of their opening four league matches on the road. This is a fixture that Arsenal should have no problem winning and Cech will be eyeing a fifth clean sheet of the season.
NICOLAS OTAMENDI (MANCHESTER CITY)
Nicolas Otamendi has been vastly improved under Pep Guardiola this season and has already scored more goals (2) than he managed in the last league campaign (1).
Manchester City will be looking to make it eight Premier League wins in a row on Saturday when they travel to West Brom and you can be assured that Otamendi will rack up the points given his all-action approach to defending. The Argentina is a Yahoo! Top-20 form player and his good form should continue here.
CESAR AZPILICUETA (CHELSEA)
Chelsea will hope their stunning 4-2 win over Watford last weekend will prove the turning point in their season. Antonio Conte’s side travel to relegation strugglers Bournemouth on Saturday and will eyeing another three points to keep tabs with their title rivals.
Azpilicueta has not managed to hit the heights of last season but he has still been a real threat in attack and has particularly linked up well with Alvaro Morata. The 28-year-old has played a direct hand in more goals than any other Premier League defender this season (5), while Morata has converted all four of his assists.
KIKO FERMINA (WATFORD)
An underrated cog to Watford’s fine start to the season has been the performances of summer signing Kiko Fermina. Arriving from Spanish side Alaves, the 26-year-old has started seven of Watford’s opening nine league matches.
The Hornets will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing 4-2 defeat to Chelsea last weekend and will be confident of overcoming a Stoke side that have been in freefall in recent weeks. The Potters have lost four of their last five league matches and are yet to win on the road this season.
FABIAN DELPH (MANCHESTER CITY)
Many scoffed, myself included, when Fabian Delph turned down the chance to leave Manchester City over the summer for regular playing time, but his decision is paying dividends now. Delph has emerged as unlikely solution at left-back for Pep Guardiola’s side in the wake of Benjamin Mendy’s season-ending knee injury.
Delph is not a long-term solution, but the 27-year-old is a good option to consider for your fantasy football teams, particularly given his price. Given City’s form at the moment, any player in their team is a smart investment.
ABDOULAYE DOUCOURE (WATFORD)
Perhaps the most improved player over the last two seasons is Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure. The 24-year-old has scored four goals in nine Premier League appearances from midfield, more than any other player in his position.
Doucoure is one of only two Yahoo! Top-20 rated players for Watford, which suggests you should include the Mali international if you are going to add any of Marco Silva’s players in your team this weekend.
MESUT OZIL (ARSENAL)
A lot has been said about Mesut Ozil’s future, but for now Arsene Wenger will continue to use his chief creator. It’s been an underwhelming season for the German, but he burst into life against Everton last weekend and the Gunners will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday.
Since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013, Ozil has provided at least three more assists than any other player (43). With morale low in the Swansea camp, Ozil’s creative skills should be on display this weekend.
MANUEL LANZINI (WEST HAM)
Slaven Bilic will hope West Ham’s shock 3-2 comeback win over Tottenham on Wednesday will finally kickstart their campaign, starting against Crystal Palace on Saturday. This is a huge relegation clash and could well decide his future at the club, so he will need his best players to turn up at Selhurst Park.
Manuel Lanzini has established himself as West Ham’s jewel this calendar year and Bilic will be hoping for some more magic from the Argentine. In fact, of Lanzini’s 14 Premier League goals, nine have been scored in London derbies. Not only that, but the 24-year-old has scored in all four appearances against the Eagles.
MOHAMED SALAH (LIVERPOOL)
Jurgen Klopp will demand a response from his Liverpool players after they were thumped 4-1 by Tottenham last weekend and now they must welcome a confident Huddersfield side that beat Manchester United 2-1 last time out. However, a return to Anfield should help Liverpool return to winning ways.
Mohamed Salah’s arrival has helped increase Liverpool’s threat in attack and the 25-year-old has already scored eight goals across league and European competition this season. In fact, he has played a direct hand in four goals in his last two outings and will be the man to look out for in Liverpool’s front three on Saturday.
ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE (ARSENAL)
The France international scored his first away goal for Arsenal last weekend but a return to the Emirates will certainly bring the best out of Alexandre Lacazette against a feeble Swansea outfit. In fact, only Manchester City’s Leroy Sane (5) has scored more home goals in the Premier League this season than Lacazette (4).
The 26-year-old has scored in each of his last three appearances at the Emirates and seems a foregone conclusion to continue that streak on Saturday.
ALVARO MORATA (CHELSEA)
With Cesar Azpilicueta already in the team, it’s a no brainer to include Alvaro Morata too. These two have combined for four Premier League goals this season, which is the joint-most prolific assist to goalscorer combination in England’s top-flight.
Rested in midweek, Morata will come flying out of the block against a Bournemouth side that are second from bottom in the Premier League. The 25-year-old has hit the ground running at Chelsea, playing a direct hand in eight goals in as many league appearances. It could be a long evening for Bournemouth...
