The second weekend of the Premier League saw only 2 sides continue their winning form from the first game to lead the table, with both Wolves and Manchester City well represented in the WhoScored Team of the Week. New Swansea keeper Michel Vorm followed up a magnificent debut in which he made 12 saves against Manchester City, despite conceding 4 goals, with another great performance in his home debut for the club. Not only did he keep a clean sheet in the stalemate with Wigan, Vorm assured the hosts of at least a point after a late penalty save from Ben Watson. His spot-kick heroics were one of 3 saves in total, leading him to a WhoScored rating of 8.1.

Jose Bosingwa - Chelsea

Further indications that Jose Bosingwa may well be a key player in compatriot Andre Villas-Boas' first team plans were highlighted in Chelsea's 2-1 comeback to beat West Brom. The Portuguese international made a remarkable team high of 121 touches in the game, 33 more than Cole on the opposite flank, making an excellent 4 key passes from 75 in total. One of said key passes led to Malouda's eventual winner after a terrific dribble down the right, though Bosingwa also contributed defensively with 4 tackles in total.
 

Roger Johnson - Wolves

New Wolves captain Roger Johnson made an excellent home debut in his side's 2-0 win over Fulham and nearly opened his account after hitting the woodwork. Johnson won 5 out of 7 aerial duels and made 1 tackle, 5 interceptions and 2 clearances at the back. He was highly involved; having 59 touches in the game, the third of any outfield player for Wolves, and made 48 passes with a decent 75% success rate.

Fabricio Coloccini - Newcastle

Centre-back Fabricio Coloccini was Newcastle's unsung hero in their 1-0 away victory in a feisty Tyne-Wear derby to say the least. He picked up the man of the match award from WhoScored with a 7.7 rating having saved the day with 2 last man tackles out of 3 in total. As well as making a further interception in the match, Coloccini led the way with 11 clearances, along with winning 3 aerial duels.

Jose Enrique - Liverpool

Liverpool's new left-back Jose Enrique has already bedded into the Reds team with consummate ease and followed up an impressive debut with a terrific all-round performance in the 2-0 win over Arsenal. While being part of a defensive unit that kept a clean sheet at the Emirates, Enrique also impressed going forward, making 2 key passes and an excellent 4 dribbles. Going back he also chipped in with 2 tackles and 2 assists to leave him with a WhoScored rating of 7.7.

Nicolas Anelka - Chelsea

Playing on the right side of a three-pronged attacking midfield line, Nicolas Anelka was a standout performer in Andre Villas-Boas first home game in charge at Chelsea. Anelka's second half equaliser was one of 6 shots in the match, 4 on target, as the Frenchman proved to be the Blues' chief attacking threat over Torres, who failed to register a single shot at goal. Gareth Barry - Manchester City

Many City fans may have been wary of the absence of Nigel De Jong against a physical Bolton side but England international Barry filled in magnificently, weighing in with a wonder strike of a second goal for the visitors. He had an 83% pass accuracy from 53 attempts, one of which was a key pass. His defensive capabilities saw him make 1 tackle, 3 interceptions and 4 out of 4 successful clearances to earn a WhoScored rating of 8.1

David Silva - Manchester City

The mercurial talent of David Silva was this weekend's top performer in the Premier League according to WhoScored ratings, marking the Spaniard's goalscoring display against Bolton at 8.8. Silva made 89 touches in the game, behind only James Milner, and made a joint high of 63 passes with a superb 89% accuracy. His opportunistic opener was one of 2 shots on target, while he also made 3 key passes. Silva also led the way for successful dribbles with 3 and was accurate with 2 of 4 attempted deliveries, along with making 2 interceptions in a defensive sense.

Edin Dzeko - Manchester City

Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko completes a trio of City player's in WhoScored's Premier League team of the week, leading the line in what was arguably his best performance for the club to date. As well as netting what proved to be a deserved winner in the 3-2 victory, Dzeko made an exceptional team high of 5 key passes.
