Fantasy Football Tipster: Gameweek 7

It's fantasy football tipster time and we have a fresh batch of suggestions this week to help boost your points tally in Gameweek 7 of the Premier League.

Opting for a 4-3-3 formation this time, our selections are based on player form along with the probability of certain outcomes in the matches this weekend. Such eventualities are calculated when one side's strength clashes with another's weakness to form our WhoScored match forecasts, which can be found on our head-to-head and preview pages prior to kick-off.

Goalkeeper

In goal this week we are going for an expensive option but Petr Cech looks set to be one of the keepers less likely to be troubled this weekend as Chelsea host Norwich. The Blues have kept back-to-back clean sheets at Stamford Bridge while The Canaries have netted just once in 3 away matches thus far. The fact that Norwich have only scored twice in their last 6 matches against Chelsea in all competitions also suggests that Cech may have a quiet afternoon.

Defence

With the probability of Chelsea keeping things tight at the back it's no surprise to see that we have gone for a member of their back four to boot, with David Luiz getting the nod this time around. The Brazilian scored a belter in the Champions League in midweek and is renowned, and somewhat infamous, for his forays up field at times, and if any Chelsea defender is likely to have an impact in the attacking third it could be Luiz.

Joining Chelsea's favourite 'geezer' in the heart of our defence is West Brom's Jonas Olsson, who put in an imperious display at Villa last time out. The fact that The Baggies haven't conceded a goal at The Hawthorns this season proves just how well-organised Steve Clarke's backline is, and up against a QPR side struggling at the bottom of the league you wouldn't bet against another shut out once again.

In the full-back positions we have opted for Everton's Leighton Baines and City's Pablo Zabaleta. The former has had a superb start to the season and the match forecast ahead of Moyes' side's trip to Wigan predicts that the visitors will score from a set-piece situation. With plenty to aim at in the box with both Fellaini and Jelavic on top form the England international may well have an influential role to play once again this weekend.

Zabaleta has been chosen for more defensive reasons; with City still looking for their first clean sheet of the season, the early kick-off against Sunderland may be the ideal chance to buck that trend. Steven Fletcher remains the only man to score for Sunderland and if Kompany and co. can keep the Scot quiet it is hard to see where The Black Cats will get their goals from this season.

Midfield

Moving into the midfield we have chosen Fulham's Bryan Ruiz as Martin Jol's side make the trip to Southampton to face the league's leakiest defence. Having shipped 18 goals already this season, a Fulham side usually weak on the road should get plenty of chances at St. Mary's. The match forecast (explained below) suggests that the away side could score from all manner of means, including a wingplay situation, a long shot and as a result of individual skill and, in the potential absence of Berbatov, Ruiz could be the man they look to.

Taking his place in the centre is Moussa Dembele who is likely to run the midfield against Aston Villa. Tottenham will be strong favourites and the Belgian should be able boss around Villa's somewhat ligthweight midfield to play a key role at White Hart Lane. With a goal and two assists for his new club already, Dembele should pull the strings for the hosts this weekend once again.

Completing our midfield trio is Arsenal's Santi Cazorla, who currently ranks as the top player in the Premier League this season according to a WhoScored rating of 7.98. The Gunners make the short trip to West Ham on Saturday and the Spaniard is likely to add to an already hefty shot tally of 23 against a Hammers side who are very weak at defending against long shots, with one of his efforts from distance bound to fly in sooner or later.

Attack

We're backing Luis Suarez to continue his form after netting a hat-trick against Norwich last time out as Liverpool host Stoke this weekend. The match forecast suggests that The Reds are very likely to score from a direct free-kick, with Suarez first in the queue right now, but the Uruguayan has been chosen here due to a record of 4 goals in 4 appearances against Stoke in all competitions.

For those of the Blue persuasion in Merseyside the goalscoring return of Nikica Jelavic will have been a major boost and the Croatian will look to build on his brace last weekend away at Wigan this time around. As mentioned earlier, The Toffees are likely to create a raft of chances at The DW this weekend and the fact that the forecasts predicts that the visitors are very likely to score from a set-piece will mean that the forward may well be vying for the headlines with Fellaini.

Completing our XI, and handed our captain's armband this weekend is Chelsea front man Fernando Torres. The Spaniard has impressed with his work rate in recent weeks, playing a part in a number of goals of late, but we're predicting that he will grab the glory himself against Norwich. With Chelsea 'likely to score from an opposition error' according to the forecast, this could be Torres' day, with Chelsea scoring at least 3 goals in their last 4 home matches against The Canaries.
