Former Liverpool outcast among our Football INDEX buy tips
Football INDEX is the world’s first football stock market where you can buy and sell shares in footballers with real money. Football INDEX offers fans a chance to bet on the future success of football players compared to the short-lived outcome of betting on football results.

For a special time only, Football INDEX are now offering an improved 7-day risk free period where they will refund any deposits made within the first seven days of trading of the deposit up to £1,000. Use the promocode ‘WHOSCOREDFI’ when you sign-up to access the offer. Think of it as a trial period where you will effectively have up to £1,000 to play with during your first week of trading.
Still undecided what footballers to add to your portfolio? Football INDEX even provides users with a handy tool to help you make informed decisions on trending players, located at the top right hand side of the home page. Share prices can also increase based on the media attention a player receives on any given day of trading.
After we ran through the five biggest market risers of the week on Tuesday, now we run through our five tips ahead of the weekend’s action.
ALIREZA JAHANBAKHSH – AZ ALKMAAR (BUY)
We have one eye on the World Cup with this one, but we can’t overlook Alireza Jahanbakhsh. This isn’t the first time we’ve tipped the Iranian as one to buy on Football INDEX, and chances are it won’t be the last. He earned the WhoScored man of the match award on Wednesday night with a stunning display against Vitesse and he’ll use the World Cup as a shop window for his next move.
We’ve bought a total of 225 shares in Jahanbakhsh and can return a £51.75 profit at the time of writing, while his buy price has risen 15.04% over the last 24 hours. He is still affordable, however, costing just £1.17 to add to your portfolio. With the World Cup edging closer, we wholly recommend capitalising on the low buy price to add the 24-year-old to your portfolio as soon as possible.
LUIS ALBERTO – LAZIO (BUY)
On Wednesday night, Luis Alberto became the first player in Serie A this season to register double figures for both goals (11) and assists (12) as Lazio landed a 4-3 win over Fiorentina. The former Liverpool man has been sensational for the Rome outfit this term and he is expected to play a key role in Lazio’s push for a top-3 finish.
Alberto’s buy price has dipped over the last week, dropping 6.87% over the last seven days, but at £1.66 per share on Football INDEX, the 25-year-old could prove a profitable addition to your portfolio. As Lazio strive to secure Champions League football, Alberto will be vital and his good form could also see him linked with a big money move this summer.
DEMARAI GRAY – LEICESTER (BUY)
Demarai Gray has seen a 23.62% rise in his buy price over the last 24 hours as rumours of a move to Tottenham do the rounds. The Leicester star has previously been linked with a switch to the north London side and the media buzz has resulted in a spike in interest in the youngster.
With a buy price of £0.93 per share on Football INDEX, Gray could prove a profitable addition to your portfolio, particularly as the transfer window edges closer to opening. The 21-year-old may have struggled for regular game time this season, making just 14 league starts, but a consistent run in the team could work wonders for Gray and Football INDEX users who have already bought shares in the young wideman.
CHRISTOPHER NKUNKU – PSG (BUY)
Like Jahanbakhsh, Christopher Nkunku is one we have previously tipped to buy before and a spike in almost 10p per share showed it was wise to add the youngster to your portfolio. We’re advising you to buy shares in Nkunku once more as it’s likely he’ll see an increase in game time between now and the end of the season.
PSG’s title win last week should result in a number of youngsters and fringe players gaining further playing time and the 20-year-old should prove no different. He has scored four goals in his last five competitive club appearances and with the French side playing for nothing but the Coupe de France now, Nkunku could be a handy pickup at just £0.88 per share on Football INDEX.
EMERSON – CHELSEA (BUY)
Confirmation of Marcos Alonso’s three-match ban on Thursday should see Emerson rewarded with an opportunity to consolidate a first team spot. The Brazilian is expected to start against Burnley on Thursday night and feature in the FA Cup against Southampton on Saturday.
He hasn’t had a real chance to stake a claim for regular game time following his January arrival from Roma, but his only start of the season for the Blues saw him provide an assist in a 4-0 FA Cup win over Hull. At £0.87 per share on Football INDEX, Emerson may prove a shrewd short-term addition to your portfolio.
